First wind instruments

The musical instruments that appear after the percussion are the wind instruments. We already speak of a great evolutionary advance of man, it could even be located approximately 30,000 years BC (Upper Palaeolithic).

We have always said that the primary discoveries were casual and surely the wind instruments are not the exception. From how these instruments were discovered there is no scientific explanation, perhaps it could have been discovered by the use of blowguns or some other weapon or tool in which it was necessary to blow and by chance a sound was produced.

In the image of this post can be seen a flute built 35,000 years ago found in Germany, this indicates that the technological development of man was much more elaborate and we no longer talk about quasi-gorillas hitting stones. We see in the image three holes which would indicate that at least this flute emitted 6 sounds scaled in semitones.

This does not indicate that the man already understood the acoustic principles described in the previous post and that it could be applied not only to percussion instruments, but also to those of wind and after those of strings: "The greater the resonance box or longer the tube or the string, the more serious is the sound and vice versa ". This already known principle was the basis of an entire musical culture that each community would evolve in different ways. The contact between communities favored the propagation of discoveries and cultural exchange.
